December 2021 - Something magical can happen when two seemingly opposite realities unite and come together to collaborate. This is what resulted from the encounter between a confectionery company and an independent, fashion brand from Milan. Expressing a message of positivity and optimism is the ultimate goal of the exclusive Limited Edition that Bauli has signed in collaboration with Massimo Alba for Christmas 2021.
The project finds as its protagonist Bauli’s iconic Pandoro of Verona which, for the occasion, strips from its distinguished shade of lilac for a festive, joyous tone of gold. Furthermore, the beloved dessert known for lighting up the Holiday spirit at every dinner table is wrapped inside a special, golden, pois-printed bag. On the outside, the package reads: “Blessed are the lips that feed on dreams”; an engaging claim that offers a new, unexpected take on Bauli’s quintessential values and principles expressed through the products.
The inspiration behind this collaboration is, in fact, rooted in the amiability and warmth of certain memories, instances, emotions aroused by the Christmas Spirit which is perfectly embodied and culturally associated with the Pandoro of Verona. "Our memories - the essence of the past, distilled through the years - often brings me back, inevitably, to the beauty of Christmas: the smile on my mother’s lips, my father’s serene and slightly dreamy gaze.

I’m unable to articulate why, for mysterious reasons, a memory is indelibly linked to another, many years later, hundreds of kilometers away: in my studio, recently, re-reading the sentence written on one of our handkerchiefs, that Christmas memory has re-emerged, sharply, and with it the sensory perception of taste and emotion linked to past moments, of little great happiness.
